Hungry this Halloween?

With the streets feeling a little bit colder and the ghouls ready to come out for Halloween, we’ve been noticing our dishes are getting a little bit freaky!

freekahTo start with try our bizarre and boo-tiful burrata, served with delica pumpkin seeds roasted in our fiery hells kitchen – this dish is like a revenge best served cold and will leave you in spine-shaking delight.

And we shouldn’t forget our spicy sriracha wings – flying in from the underworld to tease your taste buds!

Our freeky freekeh salad has been vamped up for this weekend – drizzled in sherry vinegar with radishes, blood curdling broccoli and chilling chickpeas.

Then there’s our ghoulish and gooey sticky toffee pudding – bewitched and drizzled with butterscotch, this dessert will leave your mouth-watering for more of the beastly banana ice cream.

Cheap & Cheerful London

London Blog

We know that January can be a rough month, Christmas is over and our wallets are definitely that bit emptier. To help you through the month we put together a list of our favourite cheap and free January activities. This is London – there’s always something to do, no January blues for us!

Angel Comedy nights

The Angel Comedy nights are known for being excellent so make sure to get there early if you want a seat! The evenings play host to a selection of different comedians including experienced acts trying out new material and handpicked open-mic comics.

Laugh away any thoughts of how much money you spent over Christmas – you’ll feel 10 times better for it!

Where: The Camden Head, Angel

When: 8pm every day until 30th January

No Colour Bar: Black British Art in Action exhibition

This exhibition is a walk through Black British cultural history. In 1969 the Bogle L’Ouverture Press was founded; it was a publishing house, a bookshop and a cultural hub. This exhibition features 25 artists and recreates the bookshop in an interactive temporary installation.

This unusual exhibition has received excellent reviews and is well worth a visit!

Where: Guildhall Art Gallery, Mansion House

When: 10am onwards every day until 23th January

Festival of Light

In the dead of winter this festival is here to brighten up your Saturday evening. The installation is centred in front of the Tea House Theatre and will be a beautiful sight to behold. Lights aren’t just for Christmas, so grab your hat and your gloves and pop down to check it out.

Where: Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens, Vauxhall

When: From 5pm on Saturday 23rd January

But Seriously…Comedy night

If you haven’t had your fill of comedy yet (and honestly, who ever has their fill of laughing?) this gig is absolutely deserving of your time.

A great gig held at a great venue – what more could you want? Radio X DJ and stand up comedian John Robins will be trying out new material for his tour, appearances from other great acts, 5 star reviews and a cosy venue that serves tasty food.

Where: Strongroom Bar & Kitchen, Shoreditch

When: 8pm Tuesday 19th January

Winter Lights

Yes, more lights! At this time of year we need all the light we can get.

Canary Wharf’s winter light display will include installations from a selection of international artists. You can expect to see LED butterflies, an 18 foot alien and much more in what will be a truly magnificent spectacle.

Where: Canary Wharf Estate, Canary Wharf

When: Monday 11th January – Friday 22nd January

Coram Historic Walk

Make the most of a mild winter with a historic walk. The walk last 45 minutes during which you’ll wander the former site of The Foundling Hospital as you learn about it’s rich history as well, the tour will also fill your brain with tidbits about local royals, Charles Dickens and other local bits and bobs.

Wrap up warm and enjoy!

Where: Coram Community Campus, Bloomsbury

When: 12.30pm on Friday 29th January

Let us know what you get up to this month @whyteandbrown on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram, we’d love to hear from you!

Happy Holidays

The holidays are fast approaching, so we just wanted to wish everyone a very happy and peaceful festive season and a cracking (sorry, still cannot resist a little egg pun!) new year.

And remember, when you are full and fed up of turkey (and reminded once again why you don’t buy it any other time of year), come and see us for some succulent chicken.  We will still be here, championing our favourite feathered friend.

Winter warmers in the courtyard

Blog Header2

Along with our new winter menu, we are super excited about the launch of our Winter Warmers.

It occurred to us that our lovely terrace was the perfect spot to enjoy steaming hot drinks and warming wintery food. So now you can wrap up in one of our snuggly blankets and treat yourself to hot toddies, buttered rum tea and festive mulled wine, together with the likes of delicious spicy chicken soup and maple & chilli glazed wings.

So whether you need a break from shopping, an excuse to get out of the office, or just a little winter pick me up, come and chillax with us in the courtyard.

2015 W&B WINTER WARMER final

Halloween in London

Leaves are beginning to fall and orange is suddenly everybody’s favourite colour. But what’s on this Halloween?

Halloween 1

Here at W&B we love an excuse to dress up, so come join us on Saturday 31st and get into the Halloween spirit!  There will be pumpkins (we love pumpkins), special cocktail brews, and rewards for any customers who dress to impress. Keep an eye on Facebook and Twitter for more details.

If that’s not enough excitement for you, here are some other devilish good ideas to enjoy Halloween in London.

Game of Thrones Halloween Party

Yes, you read it right! Come on GOT fans – this is the one for you!

Finch’s Pub is hosting a GOT themed Halloween evening on Friday 30th October. There are themed cocktails including ‘Winter Is Coming’ and specials as well as a prize for the best dressed GOT fan!

Finch’s offers a 30% guarantee that nobody will be poisoned, betrayed or murdered during the night. What more can you possibly ask for?

Horse-drawn Halloween rides

Richmond Park is running 3 evenings of hour-long horse and carriage rides. Cosy up under a blanket with some sloe gin (included in the ticket price!) as your guide gives you all the spooky gossip on the park’s history, ghosts and a Victorian murder.

Spooky makeovers for your pooch at Pet Pavilion

Because Halloween is for dogs too…right?

These makeovers are free and both the Chelsea and Kensington branches are taking part at midday on Halloween (Saturday 31st October). Costumes include Dracula, Yoda and Batman. Can you really say no to that?

Check it out.

Boo at the Zoo

London Zoo is all over Halloween! Little ones love a trip to the zoo at any time but for Halloween this year the zoo is putting on a special spider exhibit for kids (and adults!) to learn about how spiders spin their webs and use their venom to hunt their prey. The exhibit opens on the 24th and runs until the 1st.

The exhibit is free with admission, but for an extra £3 kids can carve pumpkins and help ready up some fruit for the bearded pigs to get their teeth into.

Here are more details.

Whatever you’re doing this Halloween we hope you have a splendid spooky time!

Come on Santa, it’s time to party!

Come on Santa

Here comes Father’s Day

Fathers Day blogThis year Father’s Day falls on Sunday 21st June – that’s less than 2 weeks away, folks!

The very idea of Father’s Day first arose in America where it’s been an official calendar date since 1966, however Father’s Day actually began being celebrated around 100 years ago.

It certainly seems as though Father’s Day was created to balance out the fact that Mother’s Day exists – but who really minds, our dads are awesome too and we can certainly find some fun ways to celebrate their awesomeness.

Luckily for you there’s lots of fantastic things going on in London over Father’s Day that you can treat your old man to. If you fancy a classy evening out there’s some great plays on at the moment including Billy Elliot and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time or if an activity is more your thing have a look at the Alternative London Tour for a bit of street art and culture.

For a more extensive list of ideas we recommend having a nose on Time Out.

Naturally you’ll need a bite to eat – give us a call to book your table: 020 3747 9820 or book online.
